Mat training refers to a special form of Pilates in which all exercises are performed on the floor on a cushioning mat. Unlike equipment training, which takes place on machines such as the Reformer or Cadillac, Pilates on the mat primarily uses your own body weight as resistance.
Mat Pilates is the most original form of the Pilates method – the foundation on which everything else is built. Joseph Pilates developed his first exercises without equipment, using only body weight, breathing and concentration. To this day, training on the mat is considered the heart of the method: honest, clear and direct. Here you feel the power of your own body, train control and awareness and learn to stabilize yourself from the inside out.
At Pilatesbee Munich, we combine the classic principles of Joseph Pilates with the latest anatomical knowledge and modern training methods. Our trainers have in-depth experience in movement, dance and bodywork – and our trainers also include osteopaths who incorporate their knowledge of body structures, joint mechanics and fascia into their classes.
This results in lessons that are precise, safe and lively. The focus is always on the individual – with all their movement goals, possibilities and needs.
